Dustin Ball is CEO of BIDV MetLife, a position he has held since the company was formed in 2014. Dustin has been actively working in Vietnam since 2012 as he developed MetLife’s market entry strategy, identified their joint venture partner, and worked to establish the business. He was formerly appointed as MetLife’s Country Manager for Vietnam in 2013.
Originally from the United States, Dustin has a long history in Asia and has been working in the region for over 10 years, including prior assignments in Hong Kong and Taiwan. His background includes roles in general management as well as mergers and acquisitions for financial services companies. As such, he has extensive experience working with regulators and governments in the region, having completed transactions in Vietnam, Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, and the Philippines.
Dustin is a strong supporter of the development of the life insurance industry in Vietnam and works closely with industry organizations as well as the Ministry of Finance to foster development of the market. Dustin is frequently asked to share his experiences in setting up a new business and working with a Vietnam SOE joint venture partner through various speaking engagements, interviews and articles.
Dustin has been active in participating in AmCham events and joining panel discussions as a speaker. He also recently participated in a Vietnam government-sponsored event in New York to help stimulate foreign investment in Vietnam.
Dustin would enjoy working to increase the reach and effectiveness of AmCham and supporting American companies in their effort to establish and grow their operations in Vietnam.
He holds an MBA Degree in Finance and International Business from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business and a BS Degree in Chemical Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
