October features two days of activities in Hanoi to commemorate 25 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the United States. The remarkable transformation of the relationship is a testament to those who worked to overcome the past and build a better future for both countries. The centerpiece of the activities is the 2020 US-Vietnam Business Summit on October 9 at the Sheraton Hanoi Hotel followed by an anniversary reception later that evening at the Hilton Hanoi Opera.
The Summit is an annual advocacy discussion about the future of the bilateral commercial relationship. This year’s Summit, co-hosted with VCCI and the US Chamber of Commerce, is titled, “Trusted Partners Prospering Together”. Key Summit discussion topics will include: promoting sustainable and predictable investment policies; driving growth and innovation through the Digital Economy; addressing Vietnam’s energy development needs; navigating Asia’s supply chain and manufacturing landscape in a post-Covid world; working together to help Vietnamese businesses and entrepreneurs reach their potential, global trade dynamics and the US presidential election; and new opportunities to fuel Vietnam’s economic recovery.
Both governments are very interested in this summit and participation at the highest levels is expected – either in-person at the Sheraton Hanoi, or via our virtual platform. This is our most important advocacy event of the year and we hope you will join us on October 9 to promote enhanced trade and investment between our two countries.
