AmCham is partnering with VCCI and the US Chamber of Commerce to organize a workshop on May 12 focusing on building Vietnam’s innovation economy. The workshop will examine a broad range of issues that impact the growth and development of the innovation economy, including highlighting how cross-border data flows benefit companies in all sizes and sectors as well as consumers, best practices for effective consumer protections and fraud prevention, and the keys to successful public-private partnerships to develop improved infrastructure and domestic digital development.
Participants will include business executives representing a wide range of industries in Vietnam and across the region, as well as public officials from Vietnam and the United States. Speakers at the workshop include representatives from Google, Business Software Alliance, MasterCard, UBER, Apple, Rockit Online, Cisco Systems, 21st Century Fox, HarmonySoft, Topica Edtech Group, IBM, VCCI, MIC, MOST, the US Embassy, and more.
Discussions will be held featuring local startup founders and our member companies to explain the importance of the Internet for all economic sectors and how Vietnamese companies are using the Internet to gain customers throughout the world.
Discussions will also focus on the physical, financial, and legal infrastructure needed to develop an effective digital economy, and pragmatic ways to strike a balance between ensuring that consumers are protected when participating in the digital economy, and creating rules that are flexible enough to allow for businesses to grow.
