Taxation is a major source of revenue for the state budget and as Vietnam’s budget deficit increases, taxpayers and companies will continue to face increased scrutiny from tax authorities trying to meet their revenue targets. In this quest for revenue, many AmCham members face tax audits, examinations, and inspections that are excessive, unfair, and often not in accordance with provisions of Vietnamese tax laws.
AmCham has asked the US government to help ensure that our members are not unfairly targeted and that the “mafia-style” approach to tax collection that some members experience stop.
Members are invited to a meeting on Thursday afternoon for companies to talk about tax issues with members of the US Embassy economic and commercial teams.
