AmCham and the Vietnam Digital Communications Association are organizing a workshop this Thursday to discuss policy challenges the government needs to address in order to promote the digital economy, ensure information security, national security and data sovereignty.
Participants at the workshop will include officials from the Ministry of Information and Communications, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Justice, and the Ministry of Science and Technology. Representatives from business associations, foreign embassies and research institutes will also participate in the discussion on Vietnam’s cyber policies and opportunities for international cooperation to promote cybersecurity.
The keynote speaker is Nathaniel J. Gleicher, Head of Cybersecurity Policy at Facebook. Mr. Gleicher is an engineer and a lawyer, and works at the intersection of technology, policy, and law. He has taught computer programming, built and secured computer networks, prosecuted cybercrime at the US Department of Justice, and served as Director for Cybersecurity Policy at the National Security Council in the White House. At the NSC, he developed US government policy on key technology and cybersecurity challenges, including encryption, cyber deterrence, internet governance, and network security.
