Q: What is the American Chamber of Commerce?
A: The American Chamber of Commerce in Hanoi (AmCham) is a non-profit, non-partisan business organization that is funded entirely by our membership and activities. Established in 1994, AmCham’s diverse membership of agriculture, education, manufacturing, services, and the not-for-profit sector, is unified by a common commitment to promoting its core values: open markets, private enterprise, free trade, rule of law, ethical and responsible business practices, transparency and the free flow of information. AmCham’s mission is to support the success of our members by promoting a healthy business environment in Vietnam and by strengthening US-Vietnam commercial ties. This is accomplished through a variety of activities, including legislative and administrative reforms, networking, business briefings, trade missions, informative publications, and much more. Members help formulate positions on trade and investment policy that are heard in both Hanoi and Washington.

Q: Who can join AmCham?
A: Membership is open to all companies and individual who subscribe to the objectives of AmCham. American citizenship is not required. People of all nationalities and from different sectors: entrepreneurs, professionals, government representatives, educators, students and other individuals may join AmCham. Members are not required to reside in Vietnam.

Q: What is the difference between the categories of membership?

Q: Can I join in the middle of the year?
A: Yes, we welcome applicants at any time and will work with you on pro-rating your dues to match the calendar.

Q: How does one apply for membership?

Q: If I am already a member of the AmCham in Ho Chi Minh City, do I also need to join AmCham Hanoi?
A: There are two AmCham Chapters in Vietnam with separate memberships, activities and finances. Many HCMC-based business people join AmCham Hanoi to access our services and information. Q: How can I pay my dues?
A: AmCham accepts payment by bank transfer, credit/debit card, or cash. Click HERE to view our membership dues and categories.

Q: How long does it take to join AmCham?
A: Immediately upon receipt of your application and payment, you are eligible to participate in all AmCham events at member rates. You will receive your membership card and a copy of the Membership Directory within a few weeks, following official approval by AmCham’s Board of Governors.
