AmCham’s Information Technology, Telecom and IPR Committee (ITTI) invites interested members to attend a roundtable discussion on Wednesday afternoon about ICT trends in global connectivity featuring guest speaker Stuart McGuigan, the Chief Information Officer of the US Department of State. As CIO, Stuart leads the Bureau of Information Resource Management, which provides tech services across the State Department. The agency has an annual IT budget of roughly $2.2 billion.
Stuart joined the State Department from Johnson & Johnson where he was responsible for global information technology strategy and operations for an organization with 130,000 employees at over 170 overseas and domestic locations. At J&J, he led efforts to shift the company’s on-premise IT systems to subscription cloud services, moving more than 500 terabytes of data. Stuart was also previously CIO and senior vice president at CVS Caremark, a pharmacy-benefit manager, and earlier held the same posts at Liberty Mutual Insurance Group.
