About GE Vietnam
GE was one of the ﬁrst American companies established in Vietnam in 1993, even before the U.S. embargo was lifted. GE ﬁrst set up a representative ofﬁce in Hanoi that year, and another subsequently in Ho Chi Minh City in 2001, working in partnership with local organizations. In 2003, GE established GE Vietnam Ltd., a 100% GE capital investment that offers a wide range of after-sales services for medical, electrical and energy equipment.
Since 2009, GE has invested in wind turbines manufacturing facility in Hai Phong. GENTHERM VIETNAM CO., LTD was established in May 2014. The construction of the factory started in September of that same year and was completed in 12 months in August 2015.
In Vietnam, operations were launched beginning of January 2016, starting with the manufacturing of automotive seat heating. On March 10th, 2016, Gentherm celebrated its ofﬁcial grand opening. This Gentherm factory is located on an area of 37,000sqm in Duy Tien (pronounced Zwi Tjen) district, Ha Nam province, Vietnam. The factory was built to follow the latest state-of the art principles in production and material ﬂow as well as providing an environment where employees are encouraged to collaborate.
