Activities in Vietnam
IBM set up its business and operated in Vietnam from 1938 to 1975. In 1993, IBM returned to Vietnam for market evaluation and in 1996, IBM Vietnam Company Limited was established, becoming one of the first 100% foreign-invested companies in Vietnam.
Over the past 22 years, IBM Vietnam has grown from a few person operation to a few hundreds of talented employees across sales, technical and support functions with offices in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang. We also grew from just a hardware company to a cognitive solutions and cloud platform company. IBM now possesses capabilities that are unmatched in our industry to address our clients’ most pressing needs.
In Vietnam, IBM has actively aligned both our business and corporate citizenship activities to the national agenda – including improving livability and sustainability in urban cities, from Hanoi through Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh City, cultivating future-ready skills and talents, and helping to build inclusive communities.
For each strategy or investment, innovation remains at the heart of what IBM provides to our clients, and I believe that IBMers can pride ourselves on the commitment to Vietnam’s success.
