Beginning her AIG career in 2003, Susan has been Chief Executive Officer and General Director of AIG Vietnam since October 2013. Prior to assuming the CEO role, she served as Chief Operating Officer of AIG Indonesia and held a number of global and regional senior executive positions at AIG, including Chief Administration Officer of Emerging Markets, and Senior Vice President of Operations and Systems for Southeast Asia & Greater China. Before joining AIG, Susan provided consulting services to a variety of businesses, building strategies and sustainable solutions for business expansion, product introduction and risk management. She is also an 18-year veteran of the private bank, Brown Brothers Harriman in New York, and served as Managing Director of Strategic Analysis and Implementation among other roles. Susan graduated from the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Arts and Sciences from Queens College in New York.
As part of her CEO responsibilities and under the auspices of AIG’s Make the World a Safer Place initiative, she is leading AIG Vietnam’s program to sponsor schools across Vietnam and provide quality helmets for schoolchildren and their teachers in partnership with the road safety efforts by the Asia Injury Prevention Foundation. She also chairs the Persons with Disabilities Council for AIG Asia Pacific and is a member of the region’s Diversity and Inclusion Council.
AIG Vietnam has had a presence in Vietnam for 20 years and has actively supported AmCham in the collective efforts of its members to improve trade and investments across a wide spectrum of industries. Susan aims to enrich this legacy with AmCham with a hands-on approach by bringing her leadership, broad experience, skills and commitment to the Board and helping AmCham to continue to make positive change happen in Vietnam.
