Meet Marcus Shaw — a dynamic leader with a diverse background in educational leadership, small business development, community engagement, and international business.
Marcus would be honored to serve in helping advance the American Chamber of Commerce in Hanoi. His extensive experience in operational strategy, financial analysis, and project management positions him as a catalyst for innovation and growth. Having successfully led multicultural and cross-functional teams through complex projects and, currently, as Director of Enrolment Management at the United Nations International School of Hanoi, he understands how to build collaboration amongst key stakeholders in diverse communities. In his current role, Marcus is privileged to forge relationships with business and industry leaders from over 65 countries, representing thousands of families in numerous industries across Vietnam. Notably, US interests comprise nearly 15% of this amazing group.
From an educational perspective, Marcus holds an undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and an MBA in Finance and Accounting from Regis University in Denver. In the coming year, he is in the final stages of his Doctorate in Educational Administration (Ed.D.). His professional certifications in Change Management (CMP) and Project Management (PMP) further highlight his commitment to helping organizations successfully complete complex projects and navigate challenging organizational change.
Beyond education and business, Marcus has actively engaged in volunteerism, demonstrating leadership in diverse settings. Highlights include managing internationally funded large-scale post-tsunami reconstruction projects in Sri Lanka, budgeting and fundraising for cancer research in the United States, and crafting policy and documentation for Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
Marcus is an avid fisherman and motorcycle enthusiast. Having grown up between California, Frankfurt, and Kolkata, he loves to spend time in the kitchen cooking up some fantastic fusion food options! Along with his spouse, Fabiola, they have two grown children and have had the privilege of raising them in Texas, Colorado, Sri Lanka, India, Thailand, Myanmar, and Vietnam over the past 26 years.
His robust background in education, international business, community engagement, and non-profit work positions him as a candidate well-equipped to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of the American Chamber of Commerce in Hanoi.
