Thanh Hai Nguyen is a Partner on Energy and Infrastructure, Environmental, Climate Change, Insurance and Financial Services at Baker McKenzie Vietnam.

Hai’s practice involves a wide range of legal, regulatory, major project and transactional matters with a focus on power, energy, & infrastructure projects, insurance, banking & finance, corporate and commercial projects. He has assisted numerous multinational corporations establish and expand their businesses in Vietnam across those sectors.

In addition to his practice, Hai has been an active member of AmCham for over a decade, most notably serving as Chair of AmCham Hanoi’s Legal Committee since April 2017, making significant improvements in various laws and regulations, helping to raise the voices of AmCham members in promoting US private sector investments in Vietnam and strengthening the bilateral relationship between Vietnam and the United States.

Hai also regularly participates in the review, improvement and reformation of Vietnam’s various laws and legal regulations and policies. Since April 2009, he has assisted AmCham and its members in conducting administrative procedure reform activities under the Prime Minister’s Advisory Council on Administrative Procedure Reform.

Hai has also participated as an active member in the Power & Energy Working Group and the Investment & Trade Working Group within AmCham’s ongoing participation in Vietnam Business Forum (VBF).

He is an admitted lawyer in Vietnam and a member of the Hanoi Bar Association. Hai completed a USA-Law-Program at University of California, Davis School of Law. He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Hanoi Law University and another bachelor degree from Hanoi Foreign Trade University.

In his spare time, Hai enjoys playing tennis, soccer, billiards and traveling.

Hai is a great supporter of AmCham and US businesses. If re-elected, he looks forward to expanding his contributions to AmCham and US businesses in Vietnam and strengthening the bilateral relationship between Vietnam and the United States.
