AmCham Members Meet to Discuss Energy Policy
Members of AmCham’s Energy Committee met with US government officials to discuss Vietnam’s energy policies and plans for the future. The discussion focused on US private sector opportunities to help Vietnam meet its energy security goals.
Our Energy Committee serves as a forum for AmCham members to discuss energy sector issues both among industry participants and with guests from the government. It provides a forum for AmCham members involved in the energy industry and related disciplines to discuss issues of common interest. It also provides a mechanism to bring pressing energy policy issues to the attention of the AmCham Board of Governors and, through AmCham education and advocacy procedures, the relevant Vietnamese government authorities.
The guest speaker at the meeting was Sandra Oudkirk, US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Diplomacy. Her office, called the Bureau of Energy Resources, leads the State Department’s efforts to forge international energy policy, strengthen US and global energy security, and respond to energy challenges from around the world that affect US economic policy and national security.
AmCham Committees are designed for our members to meet in smaller groups to discuss issues of importance with other members in their business or development sector. Committees provide members an exclusive platform to connect with leaders and peers in their sector and share business insights. All AmCham members are invited to participate in our Committees, regardless of business sector. Find out more by clicking HERE.
