At the Vietnam Business Forum on July 4 in Hanoi, AmCham Chair Michael Kelly told the government that while AmCham supports the government’s effort to link domestic and foreign companies together for mutual benefit, our members continue to have challenges dealing with corruption and an over-complicated, restricted, and unclear licensing and regulatory environment. On behalf of AmCham members, Michael talked about encouraging a health and safe environment, the need to build sustainable infrastructure, our hope that laws will be enforced in a fair and equal manner, and other ways to create a more attractive, transparent and stable business environment here. The AmCham Chairman also urged the government to be fair on tax and customs audits and to use international best practices when implementing new rules and regulations across the many sectors that our members operate in.
