AmCham, Concordia International School of Hanoi, and the InterContinental Hanoi Westlake are partnering on a blood drive on November 5 with the Vietnamese National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion because blood supplies are running very low in Vietnam.

This blood drive is conducted with the highest standards for safety and cleanliness. There is no danger of contracting illness from donating blood. A new, sterile collection set is used for each donor. You will be guided to an area to complete a health registration / blood donor form. Afterwards, you will receive a quick medical examination and pre-donation test by a doctor. You will then go to a blood collection station. Afterwards, you will receive a small gift, and a blood donor certificate. Click HERE for further information on who can donate and some tips about donating blood.

Eligibility criteria for donating blood in Vietnam:

  • Be in generally good health and feeling well
  • Must be 18 to 60 years old
  • Must weigh at least 42 kg (female) and 45 kg (male)
  • Cannot donate blood more than once every 12 weeks
  • Cannot be pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Cannot have taken Covid vaccine in the past 7 days
  • Must bring a government-issued photo ID with you

Giving blood is a simple thing to do, but it can make a big difference in the lives of others. It feels great to donate and it only takes 30 minutes! And, it’s something you can spare as most people have plenty of blood to spare yet there is still not enough blood around when people need it. You will be someone’s hero – in fact, you could help save more than one life with just one donation. Plus, you’ll get free snacks and drinks!

Join us at the InterContinental Hanoi Westlake to donate blood on Sunday, November 5. You can donate from 2:00pm-5:00pm. Registration in advance is required by clicking on the button below.
