John has been with Polaris for just over 10 years in a variety of project management, procurement, and product development roles. He moved to Vietnam in October 2017 to found Northstar Precision (Vietnam), a joint venture subsidiary of Polaris, Inc. Northstar provides a variety of component products as well as quality and supply chain services to many Polaris locations across the world. Northstar started production and made its first shipments in October of 2018 and has more than doubled in size since. Prior to working at Polaris, John spent ten years at Caterpillar, Inc., in strategic sourcing and Six Sigma roles. John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business (Asian Studies Minor) from Bradley University and a Master of Business Administration from the Carlson School of Business at the University of Minnesota.
John lived in Tokyo, Japan, for a year as a university exchange student. Prior to that, John spent four years in mid-90s Shanghai, China as an expat high school student, and enjoys playing and watching sports (particularly baseball). He also enjoys learning about history, economics, and international relations. His work affords him ample opportunities to travel the world – something his family also likes to do for pleasure. John lives in Hanoi with his wife Haruko and three young children.
