Consultative Workshop
on Decree 54 and Decree 155

Good policies for health and wellness are important for Vietnam’s sustainable development and AmCham believes that good healthcare is an important driver for wealth and economic growth here. Our new Health Policy Committee supports a Vietnamese health agenda towards high-quality, non-discriminatory, sustainable and innovative health systems. With those objectives, our Health Policy Committee will help ensure that healthcare-related legislation and policies add value to – and benefit – the entire healthcare ecosystem in Vietnam.

Our members face ongoing challenges related to restrictions and lengthy approval processes for import and distribution of healthcare products and technologies that Vietnam urgently needs. While recent legislative actions helped minimize disruptions in the supply of critical drugs, we recommend a more permanent solution to navigate these challenges.

Relevant AmCham members are invited to participate in a workshop at VCCI on April 20 to discuss challenges and recommend solutions regarding Decree 54 detailing and guiding the implementation of some articles of the 2016 Pharmaceutical Law, and Decree 155 amending regulations related to conditions for investment under the management of the Ministry of Health.
