AmCham’s Environment and Climate Action Committee holds its inaugural meeting on June 6 to discuss priorities for the coming year. The committee provides a forum to facilitate best practice sharing and promote the ways in which AmCham members are committed to socially and environmentally sustainable business practices. The Committee focuses on strengthening the collaborative relationships of members with local communities in the areas in which they operate, and encourages members to pursue opportunities to benefit and improve the environment. It also aims to promote the interests of AmCham and its member companies and raise awareness of environmental issues affecting business and quality of life in Vietnam.
The meeting includes a panel discussion on policy issues impacting environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues for AmCham members in Vietnam.
PANELISTS:
- Rich McClellan, Committee Co-Chair (moderator) – Rich is a sustainability and private sector development consultant who has served as a senior fellow with the Institute for Circular Economy Development, a senior advisor to McKinsey & Company in Vietnam, and country head of the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change.
- Ha Do, KPMG – A senior partner with KPMG, Ha leads the firm’s ESG practice across Vietnam and Cambodia. She is a member of the AmCham Hanoi board of governors and chairs our Women in Business Committee.
- Marc Forni, World Bank – Based in Hanoi, Marc is working with national and subnational governments across Southeast Asia on policies and financing mechanisms for the greening of industrial parks, buildings, and mobility.
- Dr. Nam Nguyen, KLINOVA – Nam is a climate finance advisor specializing in green taxonomy and investment, carbon pricing, carbon taxation, and ESG reporting. He is a stakeholder engagement consultant to the National Plastic Action Partnership. Nam formerly spent six years as head of the Center for Responding to Climate Change (CliTech) under MONRE’s Climate Change Department.
