Reflections on 35 Years of ESG Investing
A Conversation with Jerome Dodson

Join our conversation with the legendary guru of environmental, social and governance (ESG) investing, Jerome Dodson. Almost four decades ago, Dodson founded Parnassus Investments – a little known firm outside of ESG circles – and watched it grow into the world’s largest money manager dedicated to environmental, social and governance factors. He retired in 2022 seeing first-hand how ESG has helped push corporations and investors alike to act on issues such as worker rights and environmental protections. Dodson believes that the future belongs to companies with sustainable competitive advantages, quality management teams, and ethical business practices.

Dodson has strong ties to Vietnam. He first arrived here in 1966 as a Foreign Service officer, working for the American Embassy in Saigon. Dodson and his wife Thao met in Vietnam over 50 years ago and fund a program that educates 125 Vietnamese girls from poor families.

Join us to hear this business leader reflect on his career and some of the lessons he has accumulated over a lifetime of building Parnassus into one of the world’s leading ESG funds. He will also share insights on the challenges faced by companies to understand the wide-ranging impact of their environmental footprint while balancing the need to produce financial gains for investors. A full breakfast buffet is available before and during the event, including Pho and egg stations, cheeses and yogurts, a selection of pastries, fruit, pancakes, waffles, cereals, and much more.
