Last month, a number of AmCham leaders and members visited Washington and met with Biden administration officials members of Congress, and other policy makers and influencers to better understand the dynamics in Washington and to deliver our message on the importance of US engagement in the Asia-Pacific Region. We also met with think tanks across the ideological spectrum to better understand the ideas being formulated to influence US foreign policy in the Asia Pacific region. A key focus of our meetings was the emerging Indo-Pacific Economic Framework. In particular, we focused on the digital, environment and labor components and advocated for an “early harvest”. AmCham members are invited to a virtual meeting on August 24 for a recap of the meetings and discussions in Washington.
