Basketball to Burgers

Henry Nguyen was a toddler when his family fled Vietnam just before the fall of Saigon 43 years ago. After graduating from Harvard and Northwestern University, he came back to Vietnam and is now a well-known businessman, entrepreneur and venture capitalist.

Henry is making big bets on the future of Vietnam’s young population and the modernization of the country’s economy. The former Goldman Sachs associate and AmCham board member started Vietnam’s first professional basketball league. He brought McDonald’s, Pizza Hut and Forbes Magazine to Vietnam, and he has invested in some of Vietnam’s most recognizable homegrown start-ups including Zalo developer VinaGame.
