Private Sector Participation in Vietnam’s Vaccine Fund

The Ministry of Health says it needs 150 million doses, worth 25.2 trillion dong ($1.1 billion), to inoculate enough people to reach community immunity by the end of year. The government has placed orders from several vaccine suppliers and has established a national fund to help buy vaccines from overseas and develop homemade ones. Companies such as Vinamilk and FPT Telecom have already contributed and the government is calling on all parts of the country and society to participate in the funding effort. AmCham supports the vaccine fund initiative and we continue discussions with senior officials about ways that AmCham members can assist Vietnam.

How can the private sector join the effort to get vaccine here? What does it mean to donate to Vietnam’s vaccine fund and is a donation tax deductible from CIT? How can people ensure their workforce is on the list for vaccination? Can AmCham find a way to buy vaccine for members? Join our Insight Exchange on Tuesday morning for a discussion about these issues and recommended actions.
