Vaccine Policy in the Workplace

AmCham continues to support the effort to secure supplies of proven vaccines and continues to push for equitable and transparent access. Members are scrambling to find ways to get their teams vaccinated as soon as possible – for their employees’ safety, for the sake of their businesses, and to benefit the communities where we live and work. As more people get access to vaccines here, companies are beginning to consider some of the legal/HR issues about whether to mandate vaccines in their workforce and other vaccine-related issues.

Can a company have a policy where only vaccinated employees can travel for business? Can a company have a policy where only vaccinated employees can use the company canteen? Can a company have a policy where only vaccinated employees can come into the workplace? Can a company dismiss a worker who refuses to be vaccinated? What about potential liability from a negative vaccine reaction? Now is the time to start planning your company policies about vaccine and the workforce. Join AmCham’s Virtual Meeting on July 7 to discuss local rules/regulations about vaccine issues in the workplace.
