Welcome Dinner for Amb Knapper

AmCham members are invited to participate in our welcome dinner on Feb 17. Ambassador Marc Knapper will make remarks about the current state of the bilateral relationship and how he would like to see the relationship develop over the next few years, including his priorities for trade and investment. He looks forward to hearing your comments and concerns.

On December 18, the US Senate confirmed Marc Evans Knapper to be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. He was sworn in on January 2, arrived in Hanoi just before Tet, presented his credentials last week, and looks forward to meeting AmCham members as one of his first activities. He is the eighth Ambassador to Vietnam since our two countries normalized diplomatic relations in 1995. Among other diplomatic assignments, the Ambassador lived in Hanoi from 2004-2007 when he was the Embassy’s Counselor for Political Affairs. He is a recipient of the Secretary of State’s Distinguished Service Award, the nation’s highest diplomatic honor. Ambassador Knapper has also received a Presidential Meritorious Service Award and the Department of State’s Linguist of the Year Award.
