IPEF Briefing

Last year, the United States launched the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF) with Australia, Brunei, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. The IPEF has four pillars: Trade; Supply Chains; Clean Economy; and Fair Economy. Many business leaders remain concerned that the content and direction of the Biden Administration’s proposals for IPEF risk not only failing to deliver meaningful strategic and commercial outcomes, but also endangering US trade and economic interests in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond.

AmCham members are invited to join a virtual meeting on August 16 featuring a briefing by the IPEF chief negotiator from the Commerce Department Sharon Yuan, and the chief negotiator from the Office of the US Trade Representive, Sarah Ellerman
