About GE Vietnam
GE was one of the first American companies established in Vietnam in 1993, even before the U.S. embargo was lifted. GE first set up a representative office in Hanoi that year, and another subsequently in Ho Chi Minh City in 2001, working in partnership with local organizations. In 2003, GE established GE Vietnam Ltd., a 100% GE capital investment that offers a wide range of after-sales services for medical, electrical and energy equipment.
Since 2009, GE has invested in wind turbines manufacturing facility in Hai Phong. In late 2012, GE opened its first GE Vietnam Engineering Centre (GE VEC) in Ho Chi Minh City, providing product design and applications services that focus on the oil and gas sector in Vietnam and the around the world. In January 2016, GE officially started the alliance that brought Alstom Power and Grid into GE Vietnam after completing this acquisition globally. In August 2016, GE announced the acquisition of the Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) of Doosan Engineering & Construction, including one facility in Quang Ngai, Vietnam.
GE Vietnam currently employs nearly 2,000 employees and offers products and services in the Power, Renewable Energy, Healthcare and Aviation sectors.
