Young Scholar Ambassadors Program

AmCham offers a selective pre-college scholarship program that rewards one special high-performing young person in Hanoi as a way to demonstrate our long-term commitment to Vietnam and its young people.

This program fosters learning and civic engagement through community service, volunteerism and leadership in highly motivated and mature Young Scholar Ambassadors. The program is an opportunity for Young Scholar Ambassadors to draw upon their unique skills and talents to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

Who Can Apply:

AmCham is looking to reward the best-of-the-best. Any student that meets the requirements listed below is eligible to become an AmCham Young Scholar Ambassador:

  • Applicant must be a “full-time” student at a school in Hanoi that teaches an accredited American curriculum.
  • Applicant must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 7.0 out of 10.0 (or 3.0 out of 4.0) or above.
  • Applicant must have an active record of school, social, and community service activities.
  • Applicant must be able to communicate effectively in English-language.

How to Apply:

Applicants must submit a written essay to AmCham about their activity, school-work and community service. The AmCham Executive Director will decide the winner after in-person interviews with applicants.

What The Winner Receives:

The winner will receive a financial award in recognition of the commitment and sacrifice that is needed to succeed academically in Vietnam. This award is only to be used to offset the cost of the winner education.
